Abstract: Nigeria is the richest oil producing country in Africa but in recent time, corruption and terrorism
has been a major challenge and it has made Nigeria a major concern to the rest of the world. The
consequences and the effects of terrorism and corruption are very grave and needs to be curbed.
These problems are in no doubt solvable within the ambit of forensic accounting.
The objective of this literature review is to identify, and evaluate the existing evidence about
forensic accounting as a tool of anti-corruption and counter terrorism. This literature review
focuses on the relationship between corruption and terrorism and how forensic accounting can be
a significant solution.
