Abstract: Religious motivations of domestic and foreign tourists in Longshan Temple are factor analyzed.
Three identified constructs are: "religious novelty enjoyment", "religious help seeking", and
"inner spiritual comfort". In general, foreign tourists have more degrees of religious novelty
enjoyment than domestic visitors. Females, married visitors, poorly educated individuals, and
people of Buddhism belief have higher degrees of religious motivation across all three
constructs. Only in the construct of religious novelty enjoyment that males, unmarried people,
and people of no Buddhism belief exhibited similar degrees of religious novelty enjoyment with
their counterparts of females, married people, and people with Buddhism belief |
