Abstract:
India has been on its own path of industrial development since independence in 1947. India is an agrarian country and its economy is a developing economy, but continuous attention is being given to the progress of large and medium scale and small and cottage industries and many schemes and policies are being implemented. Like the industrial policy proposal of 1948 and the new industrial policy of 1991, continuous efforts are being made to make India a developed country. But these efforts will also be successful only when there will be development of industries in the country. District Shahjahanpur is an industrially backward district, but here and there, large and medium scale and small and cottage industries are playing a major role in the industrial development of the district. Nature and classification of large and medium scale industries and small and cottage industries working in district Shahjahanpur, status and development of industries and nature and classification of industries, status and development of industries and facilities available to industries have been studied.
