Abstract: India is a country of various communities, It is famous for its religious toleration and secularism.
India is considered as the birthplace of so many religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism,
Sikkhism etc. Besides that, it also embraces the foreign religions such as Islamism, Christianity,
Judaism, Zoorastranism etc. But it's a fact that, this land of peaceful religious co-existence was
divided into two as Indian Union and Pakistan, on the eve of its independence in 1947 on the
basis of religion. This study aims to reveal the basic responsible factors which cause the growth
of Muslim communalism in India which finally resulted in the partition of the country into two
as the Indian Union and the Pakistan in 1947 August at the eve of India's Independence.
