ABSTRACT: The paper analysed the growth of Football over the last few decades, and how it has become one
of the most popular sports in the world. Its viewership has increased manifold resulting in a lot of
money entering this arena. The impact of marketing strategy concerning to the sport was
analyzed in great depth. It has now become an extremely profitable business venture. Large
numbers of football clubs have mushroomed all over the world including India. But not all are
successful ventures. Analysis of the reasons for the above was attempted in the course of the
paper.
